Here are some of the questions which we are most commonly asked and the corresponding answers. Please cast your
eye over these questions and see if yours is listed. If not, or you prefer a deeper answer than the one listed here, then please send us an email
and we will endeavour to get back to you with an answer just as soon as we can.
Q. What would the typical cost of a system in the UK be?
A. A typical installation for a simple car or diesel vehicle, would be:
Cost of fitting - Prices as of 1st January 2009
| Single Cell Basic System |
£ 1,350.00 |
| Fitting Charge |
£ 350.00
|
| Extra per HHO Cell Fitted |
£ 450.00
|
| Oxygen Sensor - Fitted |
£ 95.00 |
| MAP/Electronics |
£ 125.00 |
VAT @ 15.0% will be chargeable on above prices
Please see more on pricing by visiting our Home Page

Q. How many HHO cells will my vehicle
need?
A. As a guide we use one cell per litre of engine capacity but it is really up
to you. If you want to run a 1.2 litre car with 6 cells, then you will obviously get great fuel economy, but the cost of fitting will
be greater. As a rough guide a single cell should be fitted per litre of engine capacity.
Q. Will this technology work on all systems?
A. This has never not worked on any internal combustion engine of any
description.
Q. Will fitting this system invalidate my dealer warranty?
A. No. However it would be sensible to discuss this with your dealer and to refer
them to this site.
Q. Will it work on diesel engines?
A. Yes - Some of the best results have been had on diesel engine
configurations.
Q. Will it work on petrol engines?
A. Yes.
Q. Is it easy to maintain?
A. Yes, but like anything else, we can do this for you if you would prefer.
Q. If something went wrong, is a guarantee offered with the
system?
A. We will guarantee your system for one month. If anything goes wrong with it we will put
it right in this time period. If any piece of equipment should actually fail in the first year, we will replace it. Please note though, this does
not include accident damage or general breakage during for example, routine maintenance. Defective items will be guaranteed for 12
months.
Q. How do I know that this will work on my vehicle?
A. Take it from us, it will - if not then we will remove the equipment and give you a full
refund.
Q. Would Hydromotion carry out the routine maintenance for me?
A. Yes, we would offer you maintenance every 3 months or 3,000 for £50.00 plus vat
per visit.
Q. Can I have this fitted on more than one vehicle?
A. Of course, it would be strange if you didnt want it on all of your vehicles.
Q. If I had this fitted on more than one vehicle, would a discount be
offered?
A. We would offer you a 10% discount on any second or subsequent fitting to other vehicles
you own.
Q. What happens if I sell my vehicle?
A. Let us know and for fee we could remove and reinstall it on your new
vehicle.
Q. Would you be able to fit the system into a replacement
vehicle?
A. Yes - already covered above.
Q. Would I have to tell the DVLA and/or the Insurance Company?
A. There is no known compulsion to tell them, but we recommend that you do. Otherwise
these people could argue that a claim had been invalidated. It is a matter for you whether you tell them or not.
Q. How long would it take to fit the system into my vehicle?
A. A rough rule of thumb is an hour and a half (sometimes difficulties are experienced and
it can take a little longer).
Q. Would the system interfere with the electronic ignition or engine managment
system?
A. In some installations, we have to fit a special electronic MAP enhancer. This will
increase the cost but it will allow the system to deliver your improved mileage benefits without your engine electronics trying to enrich your
fuel settings (this would kind of defeat the object of what we are trying to do).
Q. How long would a system last before it would need to be
replaced?
A. Indefinately. If well maintained it should last longer than you own the
vehicle.
Q. Are there any dangers or hazardous by products involved in running this
system?
A. No. Do not forget that the location of the bottles is in the engine compartment and all
gases are burned inside the engines combustion chamber. We do recommend however that prolonged engine operation in an enclosed area such as a
garage is kept to a minimum so as not to allow escaped HHO to build up. Remember this gas is highly combustable but so is the gas on your hob -
but it is not problem provided you ventilate any area after a gas build up.
Q. Is VAT payable on the installation?
A. Yes. Hydromotion is a trading name for our holding company Quantum Sales Limited
and this company is registered in the United Kingdom for both tax and VAT.
Q. I run my vehicle for my business, could this be used as a business expense
and be tax deductable?
A. This is obviously a matter for your Accountant, but many of our customers do offset
both the installation and routine maintenance costs against their business tax.
Q. Can I contact you if my question is not listed here?
A. Yes. In an effort to ensure that our FAQ is as functional and useful to all of
our clients, we would like to publish any new questions into this area of our website to assist others to put their minds at ease before they
purchase a new system. You can email us at: admin@hydromotion.co.uk and we will be happy to get back
to you.
Q. Will my engine emit reduced harmful gasses as a result of my car being
fitted?
A. Yes. A single cell fitted into say a diesel vehicle will result in a minimum of
60% reduction in the smoke test. A twin cell system will be in the region of 77% reduction and this will increase in a non linear fashion the
more cells are added to a system.
Important Notice on Safety!
Whilst it is true that having our staff fit an HHO system is
perfectly safe, it must be stressed that Hydrogen Gas is 3 times more explosive than most fuels and 6 times more than some other fuels. This
means that if this system is not fitted correctly or is tampered with then there is a potential for an accident to occur which could be harmful
to health and it could cause an explosion. We recommend that an HHO system is fitted by one of our experienced staff and that once fitted this
system is not tampered with in any way. We refute responsibility for any accident or loss in any way whatesoever which is as a result of any
tampering with such a system where fitted.
If we agree to suppy a customer with a fitting kit, we hereby
refute any responsibility with regard to the safety of such an installation. Any customer purchasing such a kit will have this point stressed to
them and a disclaimer will have to be signed to this effect. Failure to sign a disclaimer for a fitting kit will result in the kit not being
supplied as requested.
